Hot off the Presses
Bob Hartman shared this request for feedback on LinkedIn this morning. If you’re in the Agile community in any way, you should consider giving the Agile Alliance your suggestions.
As is usually my wont, I’m writing and sharing my thoughts for the AA leaders. Here they are—
Agile Alliance
Become the thought leader in our space.
Become more of a vocal and visible presence and thought leader in our space.
Take some risks in leading the way.
Local/regional mini conferences.
Virtual conferences or open spaces.
· All-in with increasing membership efforts (need some scale and steady revenue)/
Connect to organizational leaders
Regenerative Leadership initiatives.
Active membership drives.
More corporate memberships.
Panels & Executive Coaching.
Helping leaders to navigate HI and AI.
Connect to DEI (perhaps not using those letters)
Amplify Agile in Color.
Amplify – Women in Agile.
Generational diversity (gain a younger audience and membership).
More scholarships.
PMI
Integrate all PMI agile certification, training, and other initiatives with true agile values and intentions.
Actively participate in the PMI board.
X-Organizational topics/speakers in X-organizational events.
Ethics
Continue to lead in this space.
Reach out to other organizations for alignment (Agile orgs and PMI) and cross-organizational support.
Paying it Forward
Setting up Mentoring and Coaching events or groups.
Setting up job searching assistance.
Developing a WIP Board entry program where you’re developing the Alliance leaders for tomorrow.
Did I say lean into Agile leadership? This space is desperate for a global thought leader and presence. Think of ICF in the Professional Coaching space. Or PMI in the Project Management space 😉
How can we influence the future or leadership if we can’t coherently and powerfully lead ourselves?
Don’t be surprised if I add to this list over time…
Stay agile, my friends,
Bob.
Thanks for the heads up. I posted a response in the LinkedIn thread.
