Throughout my career, I’ve held roles as a technology leader and agile consultant or coach. In both roles, my organizations and clients expected me to have the answers and respond immediately to their ideas and challenges.
As an introvert, I first learned that this was a challenge. Sure, I learned to be more responsive over time, but it was always hard.
My preferred mode was to take some time to reflect on context, options, and organizational culture before expressing myself. But the challenge was how to buy a little time to think.
I learned quite a few techniques for buying myself some time so that I wouldn’t simply react.
I saw this post the other day, and it captured many of my tactics and added a few more. I thought I’d share it with all of you introverts.

Stay agile and more thoughtful, my friends,
