I am so tired of all the incremental pronouncements, naysaying, death notices, and despair posts from the Agile community that I’ve seen over the past year. Things like—
Agile is dead
All agile jobs are dead
Agile Manifesto is dead
Lean is dead
Scrum is dead
Agile certifications are dead
Scrum Guide is dead
Agile Coaching and coaches are dead
SAFe is dead (glad for this one!)
TPS is dead
Flow is dead
Agile Measures and Metrics are dead
Kanban is dead
Agile Alliance is dead
Retrospectives are dead
Scrum Alliance is dead
Sprints are dead
iCAgile is dead
Coaching is dead
DevOps, well all the ****Ops are dead
Scrum.org is dead
Value Streams are dead
Business Agility is dead
ScrumInc is dead
Empowered Product Teams are dead
Continuous improvement is dead
Scrum Masters are dead
Agile leadership is dead
Agile conferences are dead
Anything “Agile” or “agile” that I’ve forgotten…is dead
Now that we’ve gotten all of it out of our systems. Can we…
Get over it and move on,
Celebrate what’s behind us,
Optimistically look to the future,
And begin reimagining and recreating the future without throwing everything away?
That’s what the original signatories of the Manifesto had to do, as it wasn’t pretty back in their day either.
The point is—We Can STOP It!
Stay agile, my friends,
Bob.
Really Important Post. Although is it, “why can’t we STOP it? Or “we can STOP IT?”?
Yes!!!!! 🙌🏻
