Paul Klipp posted the following on LinkedIn—
The purpose of DEI policies is threefold: recruit the best people, retain the best people, and create the best products. The research has been done, and the results are in. At the expense of making some bigots a little uncomfortable, DEI done right is good business.
Now we're finding out who believes that and who are the bigots.
Color me unsurprised. As a neurodiverse person myself who has worked in some so-called inclusive environments, I always knew the bigots were still running things.
These are pretty strong words from Paul, and I largely agree with him. But I’m not writing this post to agree with Paul. Instead, it was inspired by him and his courage.
My DEI Stance
I intend to clearly articulate and emphasize the Agile Mooses’ position on DEI. Succinctly, it hasn’t changed—
We fully support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all forms.
We are anti-hate, anti-bias, anti-violence, and anti-discrimination in all forms.
We don’t support bullies, tyrants, or despots in any form, function, or location.
We fully support DEI in our consulting, coaching, and teaching work. We’re proud of our track record of active support and encouragement and will continue it as long as the Moose is standing.
While I can’t control what others choose to do, I can lead by example in this space. And lead, I will.
If you are offended by my stance, please do not engage with the Agile Moose in any way.
Stay agile, my friends,
Bob.
