To Pivot and Change or To Amplify and Grow
I saw this LinkedIn post from Marina Alex. Iโve copied it entirely belowโ

For 10 years, I built my career as an Agile sales coach.
๐ I was a keynote speaker around the world.
๐ฐ I made a six-figure income.
๐ I worked with companies that valued Agile and wanted experts like me.
But then, 2022 changed everything.
๐จ Companies stopped hiring Agile sales experts.
๐จ I was stubbornโI kept trying to "win back" my old success.
๐จ I spent all my savings and even sold my stock, refusing to adapt.
๐๐ญ ๐ฐ๐๐ฌ ๐ฉ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ฅ. But that rock bottom forced me to ask:
๐ What do businesses actually need today?
I found my answer in a blue oceanโhelping SMBs ๐ข๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฌ๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐.
๐ก Today, I donโt worry about my financial future.
๐ก I know how to solve real business problemsโfast.
๐ก And businesses are eager to work with me because I give them RESULTS.
๐๐ก๐ฒ ๐๐ฆ ๐ ๐ฌ๐ก๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ?
Because I know Iโm not the only one facing this shift.
๐ Itโs never too late to start a new careerโwhether youโre 40, 50, or 60.
๐ If clients no longer pay for what you used to offer, itโs time to adapt.
๐ If you can help businesses make more money, fix people's problems, or improve efficiency with AI, they will hire you.
๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฏ๐ข๐๐?
๐ฅ Donโt make the mistake I did. Donโt waste time clinging to the past.
๐ฅ Be brave. Reinvent yourself before you're forced to.
๐ฅ The market doesnโt care about your pastโit cares about what you can deliver TODAY.
I made the shift. And if youโre reading this, maybe itโs time for you too.
๐ฉ DM me if you want to learn how I help businesses growโand why my calendar is filling up fast.
P.S. This photo is from South Africaโback when I had no idea my career was about to change forever. Life moves fast. Thank you, Myles Hopkins Evan Leybourn Jardena London, for such a wonderful time! Love you all! โค๏ธ

First, I love and respect it when people share what they have learned. So, I applaud Marina for her vulnerability and courage in this share.
She also shares a powerful life lesson around reinvention that we all should note, not just Agile Coaches.
But I want to add a Yes, andโฆ to Marinaโs post.
Iโve been an Agile Coach for many years and donโt plan on pivoting much. In fact, I smiled when I read Marinaโs post. Why?
Because, outside of the AI mention, Iโve always focused my Agile Coaching practice onโ
๐ก Today, I donโt worry about my financial future.

๐ก And businesses are eager to work with me because I give them RESULTS.๐ If you can help businesses make more money, fix people's problems, or improve efficiency with AI, they will hire you.

And, to Marinaโs point, Iโve successfully navigated yesterdayโs and todayโs challenges.
So, you can shift away from Agile Coaching toward more business impact as she alludes to and refocuses on SMB clients. But you can also do those andโฆ
Remain a highly skilled, highly valuable, and highly impactful Agile Coach.
These hallmarks and shifts have been the centerpiece of my practice for over 20 years, and Iโm sticking with them ๐
Stay agile, my friends,
Bob.
